Point Defiance Owen Beach Park

Last weekend, Loni's work had a company picnic so we decided to go and network a bit. I had never been to the Point Defiance beaches before so (i thought it was just a zoo not a national forest area), so I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was actually very nice. The organizer did a great job with decoration and food and they even had some blow-up inflatables for the kids (and Loni) to play on. Ellis really enjoyed going through the 'big kid' inflatable - especially the slide. But even with all of the toys to play with, her favorite thing to do: pick up, play with and throw rocks. She is such a tomboy. All in all it was a fun time - a nice respite from everything that had been going on.

Throwing rocks with Daddy

Climbing up the inflatable - she did it all by herself!

All I wanted was a cute picture of her and this is what she gave me.

Don't mind the double-chin - this is Ellis' first picture she ever took.

I love her!

Do the Puyallup!

Here are pictures from when we went to the Puyallup Fair for Gary's birthday as well as a video of Jaida and Ellis going on a ride. The little girls loved it - all the rides they could go on, they would. The giant slide was one of their favorites!

Friends Visit & GreenLake

So a couple weekends ago we finally had the pleasure of seeing most of our long lost friends - Dan and Kyla Stevens, Ben and Lauren Candland and Michelle and Deloy Blanchard. The weekend was full of fun things tthat we did, but of course I didn't take many pictures. One of the things we did was with the Stevens family - we went to GreenLake and rented paddle boats. Now this sounds more glamorous than it really was; we spent the entire time trying to find a comfortable position in the seats. But hey, it was something we had never done before and we were with good company, so it was still fun. The weekend was great and it was really good to see everyone; I think it has been close to 4 years since everyone was in town at the same time. Here is a brief slideshow of the pictures I was albe to take from the weekend, Enjoy!

Sweet Dreams, Little Man...

Lon Athan Weaver gained his wings today and was called home to his Heavenly Father. Though we did not get to meet you in this life, we know we will see you again. We love you very much and already miss you as part of our lives.

Sweet dreams, little man
God speed, little man
Our love will fly to you each night on Angels' wings.

We love you.

Go Seahawks!

Loni and I got tickets to go the Seahawks game last Saturday night, and my parents were kind enough to babysit, so we made a date of it. It was a preseason game but the stadium was packed and the seats we got were great: club level right up from the 50 yard line. It was a fun night and I am glad I was able to get out with Loni. It was an enjoyable night - plus the Seahawks ended up winning in OT! GO HAWKS! (they are the only Seattle team I like).

Random Ellis Pics

Since I know the reason the five of you that look at my blog, look, is to find out about Ellis, I have compiled a slideshow of her over the past two months. The activities contained in the spectacle you are about to observe include:

- The new Southcenter children's play area: this is a great place to bring her to burn off some of that toddler energy. She absolutely loves the padded stools that look like frogs.

- Pants on head: One night she decided to put some pants on her head and it made her look hilarious. She just kept running around the house with these pants on her head and wouldn't let me get a good picture so these are my attempts.

- Chillin' in her sleep: Since she was little, whenever she is totally relaxed, she has put her hands behind her head. Loni and I call it her chillin' pose. One night I went in and she had actually fallen asleep like that.

- Playing in the pool: Last weekend it was crazy hot (in the '90's) so I went to Fred Meyer hoping they had some kiddie pools left and they did. That $7 pool provided us with hours of entertainment that day. All she wanted to do was have me keep pouring water on her.

She is absolutely the joy of my life and it is crazy to look back and see how much she has grown and change - I love her!
